SENIOR INFORMATION
COMMENCEMENT – May 26th at 6:00 P.M.
Graduation begins at 6:00 P.M. Report to your assigned classroom NO LATER than
5:30. Park in the back and enter the doors at the back by Mr. Miller’s room.
Gowns should be CLEAN and PRESSED. DO NOT go into the auditorium wearing or
carrying your cap and gown before the program. BOYS should wear a white shirt
with tie, dark slacks (black, navy, charcoal gray or khaki), dark socks and
dark dress shoes. GIRLS should wear a dress or skirt and blouse with dark
colored shoes. Your shoes should be comfortable. You will be standing
approximately 25 minutes when we line up. ALL caps should be worn flat on your
head. Wear tassel on right and move to the left after receiving diploma. Accept
diploma with your left hand; shake with your right. We will lineup at 5:35 in the
front hall and march in at 6:00 p.m. DO NOT have gum
in your mouth. Thank you notes must be sent to those whom you receive gifts.
Front Doors for ticketholders will open at 4:45. NO PARENT/GUARDIAN/GUEST is
allowed in the school other than through the auditorium.
GRADUATION TICKET INFORMATION
Each senior is given 4 orange tickets for early admittance to the auditorium.
They will also be given 2 blue tickets. Orange ticketholders will be admitted
to the auditorium from 4:45 – 5:15. NO SEATS WILL BE HELD IN THE AUDITORIUM
AFTER 5:15. Blue ticketholders will be admitted to the auditorium if there are
vacant seats, on a first come, first serve basis at 5:15. After those are
filled, blue ticketholders will go to the lunchroom from 5:15 – 5:30 to watch
via live feed. If there are remaining people after 5:30 without tickets, they
may enter the lunchroom. NO SEATS WILL BE HELD AFTER 5:30! CHECK OUT

On
the night of graduation, you will receive only a diploma cover as you cross the
stage. You will return the graduation gown the night after the ceremony
to the library. The gown must be returned to the library within 30
minutes of exiting the auditorium. You must also return National Honor Society
and Beta Club stoles. When you return these things to the library, you will
receive your diploma (if all books/fees/stoles are turned in). Herff Jones/GradPro will collect
the full price of the graduation gown if for any reason it is not
returned. The graduation medallion, cap, tassel, diploma, and diploma
cover are yours to keep. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2011!

Clanton Kiwanis Scholarship - Needs based scholarship
for high school graduates. See Mrs. Ward for application. All
applications must be received by the Kiwanis Club before Thursday April 7,

Lee Esco Memorial Scholarship
Application - $500 scholarship for students who have vocational (career
technical) experience, financial need, and have participated in types of
community service. Deadline: March 9 - See Mrs. Ward for application.
Alton C./Lera
M. Harris and Donnie Martin Scholarships - Two $1000 scholarships based on
family income/financial situation, extracurricular activities, work experience,
and essay. Deadline - March 9, 2011 - See Mrs. Ward for application.
Fill out one application for both scholarships.
Harris Brothers Scholarship - A $1000 scholarship will be
given to a student who will be attending Jefferson State Community College
after graduation. You must complete a Harris/Martin Scholarship form to
apply. Deadline - March 9, 2011
Betty Bennett Robinson Scholarship - One
senior from CCHS will be awarded $500.00. To apply, you must have good character,
leadership, and an overall 3.0 GPA. Applications are in the guidance office.

SAMMY (Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year) 2011 Award
Program - From now until March 4, 2011, teachers, coaches, principals,
athletic directors, parents students, and relatives are encouraged to nominate
a scholar athlete for the SAMMY 2011 Award. Judging is based on academic
performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service, and milk
experience essay. SAMMY 2011 applications will only be accepted online by
www.bodybymilk.com until March 4, 2011.
Buick Achievers Scholarship Program - Proudly
funded by GM Foundation. They are looking to celebrate motivated,
passionate college bound students who have succeeded both inside and outside of
the classroom, who may not be able to attend college without financial

These days are set aside for you and your family so you can tour the campus,

Alabama Bankers Association offers a $1000 scholarship to a
high school senior whose parent is employed full-time at an Alabama bank.

Allstate Foundation Scholarship - Keep the
Drive High School Journalism Awards to encourage teens to educate their peers
about the dangers of texting while driving. Print Category submissions
are articles written and published by high school students in newspapers.
Broadcast Category submissions are segments in journalistic style written and

Rural
Minority Health Scholars Program - 5 week summer program at the University of
Alabama for high school graduates who plan to enter college in the next
academic year. Qualifications: must be high school senior, have a "b"
average; earn a minimum ACT score of 21; UA requires the optional writing part
of ACT; reside in rural Alabama at least 5 years. Tuition, room and meals

AACP Scholarships - National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People is able to provide scholarships to outstanding
students. It is the duty of our dedicated Scholarship Committee to determine
the most outstanding individuals to receive these awards. The NAACP does not
provide financial aid to individuals, only scholarships through this process.

B. Davis Scholarship -
The creators of the “Student
Award Search Aid” website are offering a scholarship for 2011. All
high school juniors and seniors may apply. Be sure to include your name
and the school you are attending this year and next. This
is not an academic scholarship, but include grades in the

The deadline for applications is May 27,

BigSun Organization - All student athletes are eligible for this award,

AUM Seamless Admission Program - allows students to complete their freshman
year course work through AUM, but once they fulfill the necessary requirements,
students are guaranteed admission as an Auburn University student

Lake Mitchell HOBO Scholarship - Eligibility and requirements for
participation in the Lake Mitchell Home Owners and Boat Owners (HOBO)
Scholarship are as follows: Applicants must be a resident in Chilton or Coosa
County with a minimum B average, and entering in any accredited
Alabama two or four-year college. Attendance is mandatory at one or more
Lake Mitchell clean up days or the applicant must be trained in Water
Monitoring. Water Monitor training is a one day session with a date and
location to be determined. March clean-up day is March 26th at 8:00
a.m. All applications with attachments and essays must be submitted
by March 1, 2011.
Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS) - Go to www.gmsp.org. To be
eligible, you must be African American, American Indian, Asian Pacific Islander
American or Hispanic American. You must be a citizen, national or legal
permanent resident of the US, have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3
or higher, meet federal pell grant eligibility, have
demonstrated leadership abilities, and have completed and submitted all three
required form. Students in 9th - 11th grade who have an early
interest in the GMS program, and who want to learn more about what it takes to
be competitive for scholarship programs and successfully admitted to college,
can register with the GMS Imagine program by clicking on the "Online
Communities" tab of the website.
The Horatio Alger Alabama Scholarship Program provides
financial assistance to students in the State of Alabama who have exhibited
integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to
pursue higher education. To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Alabama
Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- be enrolled full time as a high school
senior in Alabama, progressing normally toward graduation, and planning to
enter college no later than the fall following graduation;
- have a strong commitment to pursue and
complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution located in the
United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution
and then transfer to a four-year institution);
- critical financial need ($50,000 or less
adjusted gross income per family is preferred; if higher, an explanation
must be provided);
- involvement in co-curricular and community
activities;
- demonstrate academic achievement (minimum
grade point average of 2.0);
- be a resident of Alabama and be a citizen of
the United States

University of Montevallo Minority Scholarship for Education Majors
- This scholarship is good for four years
as long as the student maintains a 2.5 GPA and remains a full time student. The
scholarship can range from $1500-$3500 a semester. The shortage of minority
teachers in Alabama and across the nation has been linked to multiple
educational, social, and economic issues. The University of
Montevallo College of Education recognizes this shortage and has
designed the Minority Teachers Scholarship Program to increase the number of
minority students completing teacher-education programs in the state. Students
who meet the scholarship eligibility requirements will be identified,
recruited, and prepared for teaching careers in both rural and urban settings.

Troy University – Excellence in Leadership Award
The amount of these awards varies. Deadline is January 15 of students Senior
Year. Requirements are 22 ACT and/or 1030 SAT 1 and 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale). The
Millennium Scholar's Award (Troy)- Pays full
tuition, room and board. Requirements are 31 ACT and/or 1380 SAT 1 and 3.7 GPA
(4.0 scale) or a National Merit Finalist. The Chancellor's
Award (Troy) - Pays full tuition. Requirements are 27 ACT and/or
1220 SAT 1 and 3.5 GPA(4.0 scale).
Jacksonville State University Scholarships begin at
