Class of 2010 Important Dates:

March 1 - Senior supplies must be paid for in full.  Money must be sent directly to GradPro/Herff Jones.

March 15 - 19: Spring Break

April 2: Prom

May 21: Senior Breakfast at 7:30 a.m.; Senior Day begins at 9:00 a.m.

May 23: Baccalaureate at CCHS - 6 pm

May 27: Graduation at Jefferson State Civic Center - 6 pm.

The William Richard Easterling Endowed Scholarship - This award, from the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration (C&BA) at the University of Alabama, was established for students who graduated from high schools in Chilton County, Alabama and have demonstrated signs of strong work ethic, personal integrity, and leadership. The recipient of this scholarship will be selected by the standing scholarship committee in C&BA. which your students must submit along with supporting documents to aid the scholarship committee with their selection. Deadline to UA: April 2010.
 

Harris & Martin Scholarships – These are two $1,000 scholarships that are separate, and are based on grades, extracurricular activities, and need. There are applications in the guidance area. Fill out one application for both scholarships. If you receive one of these scholarships, you will be required to keep the Harris & Martin families updated annually on your status. DEADLINE: March 31, 2010.
 

Lee Esco Memorial Scholarship – Are you in a vocational program or hoping to receive training in a vocational area after high school? If so, this scholarship is for you! This is a $500 scholarship given by the family of Lee Esco. Vocational interest, need, and other factors are considered. See Mrs. Ward for an application.
 

Lake Mitchell HOBO Scholarship – If you are graduating from a Chilton or Coosa County High School with a minimum B average, and are entering any accredited Alabama 4- or 2-year college you may apply. Complete the Lake Mitchell HOBO Scholarship application form (in the guidance area) and attach an official transcript of grades (9-12), your GPA and ACT or SAT scores. Applicants will be interviewed and required to write an essay. THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT. To be eligible, attendance is mandatory at one or more Lake Mitchell Clean-up or Water Monitoring Activity. Rural Health Scholars Program – JUNIORS: THIS IS FOR YOU! If you’re interested in becoming a health care professional, if you have a B average, if you’ve earned at least a 21 ACT score, and have lived in AL for at least 5 years, you could take two college courses at no academic risk, gain credit, and your tuition, room, and meals would be provided at no cost to you. The Women’s Alabama Golf Association ($2500 renewable) established a scholarship foundation trust to assist deserving young females from Alabama. Candidates must have academic excellence, leadership, good citizenship, sportsmanship, and community involvement. Furthermore, the individual must be in need of financial assistance, and score a minimum of 22 on the ACT. Two letters of recommendation are needed, and a short essay must be included. See Mrs. Ward for an application. Deadline: March 31st.
 

Alabama Council for Affordable and Rural Housing Scholarships - Applicants for ALCARH Scholarships must meet the following eligibility requirements: Have a minimum of a “B” average in high school or college, Expect to graduate in the Spring of the scholarship year from High School or have already graduated from High School, Must be accepted at vocational school, college, or university if not already enrolled, Cannot already have a degree. Must be listed as a resident on the current tenant certification at a member complex and have lived at that complex for at least six months. Kids’ Chance Scholarship Fund – If you had a parent killed or permanently and totally disable in an on-the-job accident, you qualify to apply for this scholarship. The deadline for submitting applications each year is May 1. Students can complete an application on the foundation’s website at www.alfinc.org.

BigSun Scholarship - The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community. NAVY ROTC - $180,000 Scholarship Opportunity – Visit https://www.nrotc.navy.mil and complete an application or you can contact a Scholarship Coordinator at 1-888-PRO-NAVY. Requirements include: US Citizen, Minimum ACT Math 22 & Verbal 22, Be at least a high school junior but no higher than 30 semester hours of college credit.
