Isabella High School Uniform Dress Code Policy
Shirts Long/short sleeve Polo style with collar, pull-over sweater (crew or V-neck), pullover fleece (crew or ½ zip), long/short sleeve school t-shirt, school sweatshirt Polos must be tucked in to pants, shorts, or skirt Polos, sweaters, and fleece must be solid in color Polos may have no more than two buttons unbuttoned School t-shirts must be of reasonable fit and may be worn untucked but must fit no higher than the natural waistline and no lower than four inches below the natural waistline School sweatshirts may contain hoods; kangaroo pouch pockets are not allowed; hoods may not be worn inside school building Sweaters, fleece, and school sweatshirts must fit no higher than the natural waistline and no lower than four inches below the natural waistline Pants/Shorts/Skirts No holes, tears, or frays allowed Must be of reasonable fit and be worn at natural waistline (top of hip bone iliac crest to slightly below navel); low riders not allowed No more than four pockets allowed (inset watch pocket not counted) Belt required be worn with pants and shorts; required for skirts if loops available Shorts and skirts must strike no more than one inch above the knees Jeggings or leggings must be covered by shorts or skirt of appropriate length Cargo style pants and shorts not allowed Accessories Accessories are open to student and parent discretion to the degree that they are consistent with the Chilton County Board of Education dress code policy and not distracting to the educational process or environment All Windbreakers & Anything That Fully Buttons/ Zips Up (jacket, coats, ect) These are not considered uniform tops in and of themselves and therefore must be accompanied underneath by a uniform shirt All windbreakers & anything that fully buttons or zips up must be predominately solid in color; colors of inserts, piping, bands & borders may vary from color of body Hoods are allowed but may not be worn inside the building; kangaroo pouch pockets are not allowed No over-sized windbreakers, jackets, or coats allowed; no trench coats, fatigues, or hunting jackets allowed; no camo allowed Windbreakers & Button Up/Zip ups not meeting required specifications may be worn to school but are to be placed in lockers between 7:45 and 2:55. Lecroy Career Tech students may wear these on the bus to and from career tech but are required to place these in their lockers upon arrival to Isabella from career tech. Exceptions No emblems, logos, pictures, advertisements, or writings allowed excepting: a) school approved logo, embroidery, or applica; b) manufacturer embroidered emblem/tag of no more than a ½ inch (such as a small eagle with the American Eagle clothing, a golf club with the Polo brand, the name Dockers or Wrangler, ect)
Accommodations · Reasonable accommodations will be made for religious or medical reasons provided such accommodations will not unduly interfere with the effective functioning of the school day or the dress code policy.
School administration reserves the right to determine the appropriateness and acceptance of all clothing and attire worn to school and to any related school day functions. This includes but is not limited to allowing students to dress better than school uniform for special occasions/fieldtrips and, upon request, during the regular school day.
All Chilton County Code of Conduct dress code rules not covered in this policy still apply. |
