Chilton County is located in the geographical center of Alabama. Due to its
central location and a very desirable quality of life, Chilton County has
tremendous growth potential. As the population has increased, the student numbers
have also increased and the Chilton County Board of Education is taking
steps to address the educational needs of each student. This planning
includes addressing all aspects of the school programs, such as capital needs,
academic needs, technology needs, and extracurricular needs.
The public school system in Chilton County was established in the early 1900's.
The primary mission, then and now, has been to provide quality educational
opportunities for the students. Utilizing an outstanding staff, these
educational activities include a wide variety of programs leading to general,
advanced, and occupational diploma options for the student body.
The school system consists of eleven various schools scattered throughout Chilton
County. Full range academics and extracurricular programs are available at each
school. With the implementation of new curriculum standards and the block
schedule program, students have many new options to broaden their course of study.
