Message from the Principal:
It has been my pleasure to serve as principal here at
VHS for the past 13 years. I enjoy the friendly family nature of the
school and community. There is much support from our students,
faculty, and school programs. I encourage you to be a part of that
support. There is also a lot of history in and around Verbena, known
from its beginning as a town with cool breezes. The school was
established in 1888 and classes were begun in the present building in the
early 1920's. Grades 3-12 are housed at the main campus; Kindergarten,
first, and second grades are located at the McGriff Annex approximately one
mile away on Highway 31. Thank you for visiting our website. If

Our school participates in the Box Tops
4 Education Program. Please collect the Box Tops from participating food
packages and send them to school with your child. Each Box Top is worth
